Strange

Well, that was an odd random comment on the last post (I just deleted it). Spam I guess, though spam usually has a purpose. I hope it's not someone just doing a test and now they're going to flood the site with stupid junk.

Went to Falmouth in Cornwall for one night last Saturday. We stayed in a nice
hotel with a spa, where I had a massage. (Lynda, I tried to put a link there following the method you sent me a while ago, but can't get it to work. Did it change when the sites changed?) The massage therapist told me my shoulders were some of the tensest she'd seen - like a board across my back. She couldn't get in to undo the knots.

What's causing that? Here's a clue - at the end of the three-hour drive down, Amelia woke up from a short sleep and promptly had a screaming tantrum when I told her she had to put her tights on to get out of the car (it was cold outside!). She then refused to get out of the car at all. Ian had to go off to find something for lunch, rather than the pub lunch we'd been looking forward to. I was so tired from working (three days at Stoodleigh, plus another project at nights) that I burst into tears.

Luckily things got better after that. And she hasn't had a tantrum again since, so let's hope it continues. We've started the reward chart system again.

My little play is finished. The last workshop is next week, then there are two weeks off, and then they have a meeting at which the writers try to get together with a director. Should be interesting...

Finally, some nice weather

Well, we had at least two sunny days last week, and a lovely weekend. That's more like it. I do get so depressed by the rain. Last Sunday it came down solidly for the entire day - the only choice was between whether it came straight down or sideways! High winds too. Several areas around the city were under a few feet of water.

But today it's sunny and the daffodils are out, and I feel a bit better. We had a visit this weekend from our friend Mike (husband of my friend Kenda), who lives just outside Halifax (that's the one in Nova Scotia, not Yorkshire). He's working temporarily in Cardiff before going back to NS to work for the same company there. He arrived yesterday afternoon by train, and he and Ian had a good walk around the city this morning while Amelia and I were at Mandarin playgroup, then we all went for lunch on a pub terrace. The best thing is, he is coming back in April with Kenda for a couple of days. Yay!

Amelia hasn't been very well. She started a cough last week and had lots of phlegm as well, poor thing. One night she woke up coughing and spitting up stuff and was so tired and upset, she literally started turning around in circles - she just didn't know what to do with herself. She's much brighter today, though.

Next weekend we are going down to Falmouth in Cornwall for one night, to stay in a nice hotel (we hope). There are good prices at this time of year. If the weather was like this weekend, it would be lovely.

Still working quite a lot for the client north of Tiverton, and have taken on another book to do as well. It seems like I have so much on, I feel quite stressed, even though I'm not working full time. It's trying to fit everything in.

It looks like Ian is going to mow the lawn - I just saw him get the lawnmower out of the shed. If that seems early to you - some people have been mowing theirs all winter. We never really had a cold snap.

All for now.
